Two months ago Warner Home Video released
Friends - The Complete Series Collection on Blu-ray Disc, a high-def gift set with all 10 seasons of the instantly-classic "must-see TV" sitcom. Not all fans who want to see this at HDTV resolutions can afford the entire run of the show at once, however, so today Warner has announced that
April 30th will see the release of the first two seasons as individual Blu-ray format season sets!
Friends - The Complete 1st Season on Blu-ray will cost $25.98 SRP, for 2 discs with 24 episodes plus extras. Those include a Pilot Episode Producers' Commentary, the "Remember Friends of
Friends" featurette with clips of memorable guest stars, and a
Season Two Trailer.
Friends - The Complete 2nd Season on BD is also $25.98 SRP for 2 discs, and those 24 episodes are accompanied by extras in the form of The Uncut Version of Smelly Cat, a Friends of
Friends Guestbook, and the "Learn What's Up With Your
Friends" featurette. Both titles also include UltraViolet versions of the episodes, which must be redeemed within two years of the initial street date.
Note that these will be the same
versions of the episodes found on the previous Blu-rays, which contain the footage as originally aired on NBC. Full-sized package art isn't available yet, but you can see from the thumbnail images at the top that they are using the same key artwork from the original DVD season sets.
