4-disc set comes to the line of scrimmage on May 19th

Posted by David Lambert
One of the most compelling, heartfelt and intense TV series of all time - Friday Night Lights - returns to more acclaim with 13 groundbreaking Season Three episodes. Return to Dillon, Texas, where the close-knit residents face new challenges and uncertainties as they deal with the day-to-day pressures of life transitions, heartbreak and hardships. Featuring a powerful all-star cast led by Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, Friday Night Lights is the realistic series that has received unrivaled recognition from Time, Entertainment Weekly, the Primetime Emmy® Awards, Writers Guild and the American Film Institute. Discover why this gripping series from executive producers Brian Grazer, Peter Berg, Jason Katims and Jeffrey Reiner is being praised as "one of the best series on TV." (Orlando Sentinel)
In mid-January, just a couple of days after complete a first-broadcast run on DirectTV's "The 101 Network"), Friday Night Lights - The 3rd Season began re-broadcasting on NBC. This morning Universal Studios Home Entertainment announced that following the show's re-run on network primetime, those 13 episodes will come to DVD on May 19th.

You will get a 4-disc set, presented in anamorphic widescreen video and with English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound audio. English subtitles are included. Cost, as we've seen with the previous DVD releases of this series, will be kept low at just $29.98 SRP. There's been no word yet about bonus material, if any, and no packaging pictures yet, either. Stay tuned, though, and we'll keep you updated as soon as the studio provides more!

UPDATE: The package art has now arrived for this release. Enjoy!
