Reservation Road, a film starring Joaquin Phoenix, Elle Fanning (Dakota's sister), Jennifer Connelly, Mark Ruffalo and Mira Sorvino, is "a powerful human story of anger, revenge and great courage"...a film that "takes you on an intense journey that follows two fathers as their families and lives converge after the events of one fateful night." The DVD release of this movie was originally scheduled for release in January, but was delayed and has this morning been re-announced by Universal Studios Home Entertainment for release on April 8th.
What does all of this have to do with the television series Friday Night Lights? Absolutely nothing, as far as I can tell, but Universal has decided that the premiere episode of FNL's second season, "The Last Days of Summer," will be included among the extras on this film.
We've heard lots of different things about the timing for the DVD release of the second season set, ranging from "early summer" (May/June) to as late as August. Nothing we've felt comfortable reporting on yet; stay tuned and we'll let you know when we hear something we're confident about! But it looks like you'll be able to get a taste of Season 2 on DVD, if you happen to pick up this movie on the second Tuesday in April.
