Two and a half weeks ago we
brought you exciting news: the long-awaited DVD release of
Friday The 13th: The Series - The 1st Season, while not announced by the studio at the time, was suddenly available to
pre-order from Amazon. No release date was given, but you could pay the giant e-tailer $37.99 (discounted from a $54.99 SRP) and lock in your copy whenever the set started to ship.
This morning CBS DVD and Paramount Home Entertainment made the official announcement, confirming that
Friday The 13th: The Series - The 1st Season is on the way, and giving a street date of
September 23rd. The first of three seasons held 26 episodes, and the running time on this collection is 19 hours 40 minutes. Video is in the Full Screen format, and audio is English Mono. No package art or extras (if any) are listed yet, but the studio did provide this brief description of the show, and a logo that will probably be adapted to use on the box cover.
