Yesterday saw
the release of the fourth season, and today Warner is set to announce the DVD release of
The Flintstones' penultimate (that means "next-to-last") season. Hoppy the Hopparoo joins the Rubble family, Fred sends dancing girls to Pebbles' birthday party, Mr. Slate promotes a new foreman, Fred spends a night in a haunted house to try to inherit a fortune, The Gruesome family moves next door, the Water Buffalo Lodge holds a baby beauty contest, Barney drives in the Indianrockolis 500 as "Googles Pisanno," Santa asks Fred to make some deliveries for him, the Flintstones and Rubbles get lost in time, the Hatrocks come to pay a visit and start a feud, Fred stars in a film, and Fred also becomes a surfing star in an episode with a guest voice-over by none other than James Darren ("Moondoggie" in the original
Gidget films,
Time Tunnel).
The 4-DVD set of
The Flintstones - The Complete 5th Season will cost $44.98 SRP and arrives on
March 7th. The supplements have not been announced quite yet, but we'll have additional information as well as a full-sized look at the packaging just as soon as Warner Home Video makes these available.
