In our
news yesterday that announced the upcoming
March 22nd release of
The Flintstones - The Complete 3rd Season, we showed you a tiny picture of the box. Today we have a much nicer picture of the packaging, and you can find that a bit farther below.
We also have a clarification about one of the episode titles: the show which features the birth of Pebbles Flintstone was entitled "The Blessed Event" in the list we provided yesterday. The episode is also known as "Dress Rehearsal", and that's apparently the name that Warner will use on this compilation. The reason the episode went by both names is due to the fact that, as the story starts, Wilma is still pregnant and Fred is nervous, so the Rubbles suggest that they have a "dress rehearsal" to get the going-to-the-hospital routine down pat. The expectant couple begin to do just that, until it turns into the real thing at the last minute! What follows is some of the best sitcom stuff you'll ever find, whether live or animated...good stuff.
More good news for
Flintstones fans, even though it's technically a "movie" that TVShowsOnDVD doesn't cover (we'll make an re-exception since we brought it up before). Back on December 7th, when the 2nd Season arrived, the original plan from Warner (
as we reported) was to also separately ship the full-length feature
The Man Called Flintstone. That was delayed, unfortunately, with no explanation. Now
Amazon.com shows it's back on the schedule for the same
March 22nd date as Season 3. Let's cross our fingers this time and hope it doesn't get delayed any further. Price and specs don't seem to have changed.
Speaking of specs, let's bring the discussion back to the 3rd Season box set and mention the specs on it: full-frame video, English-Spanish-French language support for both subtitles and 1.0 Mono sound, and 724 minutes running time. And here, finally, is that art we promised you!
