The other day we
brought you pictures, including a close-up, of the upcoming Warner DVD release for
The Flintstones - The Complete Series. At the time we didn't have a release date for it, but this morning the studio made their official announcement.
October 28th is when this collection will hit the stores, as a 24-disc set that costs $129.72 SRP. It will have all 6 seasons of the show, presented in a gift box made to resemble a "Bedrock-style" television set, with a lenticular screen. Discs are stored by sliding them into "pages" in different "books", which in turn are placed inside the "TV" packaging. No other details are available so far, but stay tuned and we'll keep you updated.
UPDATE: Warner has advised for the first time about bonus material included on this new gift set. In an e-announcement sent out today, they state that the 166 episodes will be accompanied by over 4.5 hours of bonus materials..."Loads of Extras for
Flintstones Fanatics!" Unfortunately, no details about these extras are given. However, it's also worth noting that the e-announce proclaims this to be a "Special Limited Edition - While Supplies Last!" So jump on it right away, and
place your pre-order at DVDEmpire; at the time we're writing this the cost there is $102.48 (which is like $17.08 per season).
