Out at the EMA (Entertainment Merchant Association) show in Las Vegas this week, TSoD's Gord Lacey has spotted a fun new package that Warner Home Video is preparing for later this year: The Flintstones - The Complete Series. While no date or details have been revealed just yet, the studio did show off a mock-up of the proposed packaging. Gord describes it as a big box shaped like a TV, with a lenticular image screen.
Sliding into this box are a pair of "books". Each book has pages which hold the DVDs as a slide-in pocket, similar to releases such as the complete series releases of M*A*S*H or Sex and the City, if you've seen those. One book is for seasons 1 through 3, and the other book has discs for seasons 4 through 6. Gord tried to get a picture of the mock-up, but it was displayed inside of a glass case, and the glare off the glass defeated his attempts to take a picture. Expect it in time for Christmas, of course (possibly much sooner), and stay tuned for more details as soon as the studio makes them available!
