Recently we've posted stories
here and
here about how a number of online retailers suddenly listed a February 5th release in the USA about
My Favorite Martian - The Complete 3rd Season on DVD, coming from either "Rhino" (who put out the first two season sets in the USA) or from "WEA" (one of Rhino's retail distributors, and a sister company of Rhino's). We told you how Rhino informed us they hadn't had a thing to do with it, and how after the ship date most of the e-tailers almost immediately stopped listing the release.
We've gotten a number of e-mails from readers who tell us they actually got copies from their pre-orders. Some ordered from Amazon, some from other places such as BN.com (Barnes & Noble). 100% of the people who told us they got their order filled, all say that what they received was in fact the same Australian "Region 0/NTSC" DVD release from Umbrella Entertainment which
we first talked about last November. In fact, we owe our thanks to reader Brian Picker, who was not only the very first to let us know about that, but also took the time in the past couple of days to scan the front and back of what he received and send those to us. Here is a look at the pics Brian sent us:

So it seems some distributor picked up a pile of these from down under, and sold them to the various e-tailers that listed the product. We're not sure why Rhino's name got attached to it, and noone else seems to know, either. Still, hopefully this info settles the matter. Rhino informs us they don't intend to put this item out anytime soon, and as their Martian license expires in August it seems that the Australian route is the only way to go until another North American company picks up the rights and runs with it. Our thanks to everyone who was thoughtful enough to write in.
