Father of the Pride - They said 'Thanksgiving'. They were wrong, it seems!

Remember back in January we posted a story which relayed a fansite that was talking about Father of the Pride coming to DVD? They said that it was coming around Thanksgiving.

Not true, says Amazon.com's pre-order listing! The mega e-tailer already has the title on their site, which we know about thanks to one of our readers, "Adam." The listing he spotted comes complete with a ship date of June 7th! This is MUCH sooner than we would have expected, especially since Universal - who distributes Dreamworks titles - hasn't said a word about it yet.

Amazon shows the title as Father of the Pride - The Complete Series, with a list price of $29.99 (but they are selling their advance orders for $20.99 at this time). The release is supposed to be "loaded with features," according to the rumors we posted earlier. However, Amazon doesn't have any word about that quite yet.

The show ran around a dozen episodes (give or take one) in the late part of last year. John Goodman (Roseanne) starred, or rather his voice did, in this CGI animated series that took place behind the scenes at the Siegfried & Roy show in Las Vegas. Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Carl Reiner (The Dick Van Dyke Show), and Orlando Jones (MadTV) also were part of the cast, and guest stars included the voices of Lisa Kudrow, Andy Richter, Wendie Malick, Matt Lauer, Danny DeVito, Jennifer Coolidge, Christina Appelgate, Dom DeLuise, David Spade, Laraine Newman, and Eddie Murphy as "Donkey" (from the Shrek films).
