Fastlane - Rev Up: McG's Series Is Finally Speeding To DVD In 2008!

Star's Website Gives Release Timeframe

Not long after his success with the theatrical remake of Charlie's Angels, but before he roared into cinemas with its sequel, Full Throttle, McG shifted gears into the Fox Network with a series called Fastlane. The show starred Peter Facinelli (Six Feet Under, Damages), Bill Bellamy (How To Be A Player, Any Given Sunday) and Tiffani Thiessen (a.k.a. Tiffani-Amber Thiessen; Beverly Hills 90210, Saved By The Bell) as undercover cops using confiscated goods to go after the crooks in L.A.

Now Peter Facinelli's official website has posted a graphic, which we've screen-captured and posted below, that says Fastlane is finally coming to DVD in Summer 2008. The same sort of info is posted at Facinelli's MySpace page as well, but that's about it.

The show lasted 22 episodes, including the pilot. Guest cast included Paul Gleason, Isaac Hayes, John Doe, Tatyana Ali, Iggy Pop, Michelle Forbes, Eric Mabius, George Hamilton, Jaime Pressly, Jake Busey, Jay Mohr, Jenny McCarthy, Jillian Barberie, Mischa Barton, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Naomi Campbell, Tommy Lee and former Miss U.S.A. Ali Landry.

There was an unaired alternate version of the pilot episode, with some extended footage and different music. The entire show may have some music issues considering the strong selection of songs incorporated into each episode, but Warner - who should be the studio releasing this for home video - usually does their very best to keep their TV-DVDs in original form. We're in the process of contacting the studio for more information about this release, so stay tuned! Our thanks to reader Kevin Byrne for the heads-up about this; we appreciate it!
