You may recall our report that ADV Films had
ditched DVD-18s after complaints from consumers, but now they're going one step further. The studio is slowly repressing early Starburst editions with new 4 disc versions, eliminating the DVD-18s completely. We're told that they're repressing volumes once supplies run out, but the complete run hasn't been repressed yet. The new sets will be available in stores.
Here's the big news; consumers that received defective product (the 2 disc DVD-18s) can exchange it for the new 4 disc set when they become available. Not only did ADV quickly get rid of the dreaded and problematic DVD-18s once they learned of the problem, they're willing to make sure consumers have discs that work 100% of the time.
You should only contact them if you have defective product; you will have to return your current set to them. Please do not contact them if you just want the larger packaging. That's not what this replacement program is for, it's just for replacing defective product.
