With all the excitement from fans over A&E Home Entertainment's official
announcement the other day for
Farscape - The Complete Series Megaset, we've decided to post a quick "Saturday special" update for you about a few bits and pieces out that have come out of Comic Con, going on right now in San Diego. Yesterday was the
Farscape panel at the show, and our friends
@AEHomeEnt tweeted (posted on Twitter) a couple of very interesting things!
First, and not really related directly to the DVDs (but still a fascinating thing!), we'll mention their post that the
Guiness Book of World Records presented Brian Henson with an award for Most Visual Effects in a TV Series, for
Farscape. Very nice! More importantly, as regards the home video release, it's great to know that
as the panel started, "
Brian Henson said
Farscape Undressed will be on the DVD set." For anyone not familiar with that,
Farscape Undressed was an hour-long documentary and catch-up special that the Sci-Fi Channel (now "SyFy") aired prior to the third season. The goal was the help new fans get into the series, and it included explanations of the characters and storylines, including clips from Seasons 1 and 2. Great to know that this will be on A&E's new releases!
We've also had a number of readers ask whether
The Peacekeeper Wars would be included on the set. This won't appear on the MegaSet due to Lionsgate still owning the DVD rights to the production (you may recall ADV Films released the series while Lionsgate did the mini-series).
