Family Ties - The 2nd Season is being prepped for its DVD debut on 4 discs this
October 9th, and this past week the studio released the rear cover art for that package. We already knew that extras would include Michael J. Fox's participation, but now we have all the details of the rest of the extras as well:
- The Making of Family Ties
- Michael J. Fox: The Best Gig In The World
- The Year of the Beard
That's the great news. The bad news is that there is a label on the back of the box, warning that "
Some Episodes May Be Edited From Their Original Broadcast Versions. Music Has Been Changed For This Home Entertainment Version." Here at TVShowsOnDVD, we join the fans in wishing that TV-on-DVD releases could always be exactly like they were when they first aired. However, from an editorial point of view, we'd like to say that getting a production-staff-approved musical change (due to rights issues) is probably better than never getting the DVD released at all (which is the only viable alternative in some cases). And we're just glad that the studio is decent enough to let the fans know about changes in advance, whenever this has to happen. Yeah, it still IS kinda sucky, though. Here is the box art itself:
