Isn't it always nice to get a question answered, before you even have a chance to get around to asking? That's what happened to us here! At the beginning of this week, CBS/Paramount announced the
August 5th DVD release of
Family Ties - The Complete 4th Season. When we
wrote about it, we commented that there was no mention in the heads-up announcement about whether or not the pre-season "movie of the week"
Family Ties Vacation telefilm would be included in the DVD set.
Now the studio has sent retailers a list of contents and extras for this 4-disc set, and the "Vacation" telefilm (where the family heads to England and gets chased as spies) leads the roster of bonus material! Also included, we're told, are episodic promos and "a hilarious blooper reel" (exact quote). Plus we're reminded that not only did we see the debut of Tracy Pollan (who later became Michael J. Fox's real-life wife) as Alex's girlfriend "Ellen", but also the debut of Scott Valentine ("Metallo" on
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) as Mallory’s boyfriend "Nick". Per the studio, the cost of this release will be $39.99 SRP.
