One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time returns for a eighth season with Archie (Carroll O'Connor) still as irascible and highly opinionated as ever arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," (Rob Reiner) and taking refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith (Jean Stapleton), who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs. All In The Family ran on CBS for 9 seasons strong and spawned the spinoffs Maude and The Jeffersons, both successful television series also created by legendary TV producer Norman Lear. All 24 original half-hour episodes in a 3-Disc Set!
The long-awaited 7th Season DVDs
JUST arrived in stores 2 days ago, thanks to the great folks at Shout! Factory picking up the home video rights this series. The show is owned by Sony, who put out the first six seasons between 2002 and 2007. But Shout! wants fans to know that there won't be another three-year wait between box sets, because today they have announced that on January 11th
they will release to stores All in the Family - The Complete 8th Season
You'll get a 3-DVD set with 24 episodes, running approximately 575 minutes. No previous season set release of the show has had any extras on it, and frankly we don't expect that to change with this new compilation, either. Still, it's the next-to-last season of the legendary program, and that's worth it just by itself! Cost is low, too, with a list price of just $29.93 SRP, and you can pre-order it right away at a discount using the Amazon button link below. Underneath that you'll find the box art! Don't forget, too, that there are some great guest stars this season: K Callan (Lois & Clark
), Sorrell Booke (Dukes of Hazzard
), A Martinez (Whiz Kids, L.A. Law
), Christopher Guest (Saturday Night Live, This Is Spinal Tap
), and Sherman Hemsley as "George Jefferson" (The Jeffersons
). The whole season ends with a sad farewell...don't you dare miss it!
Note that Amazon has now, for unknown reasons, pulled their pre-order listing for this title. Perhaps it was simply premature. We believe the situation is very likely just temporary, and by the time you read this the listing could have been restored. If not, please check back in the near future.
