Lee Majors and Heather Thomas star in The Fall Guy
, a primetime hit on ABC in the early '80s. Majors (The Six Million Dollar Man
) had the title role as Colt Seavers, a stunt man who works as a bounty hunter between film gigs. Majors also sang the show's theme song, "The Unknown Stuntman." Glen Larson created the show, which lasted for five seasons. Although not seen during the first season, later on in the show's run Markie Post (Night Court
) joined the cast.
Our friends in the home video retail world have given us early info from Fox that they are finally bringing The Fall Guy
home on DVD. The release is currently slated for June 5th
(subject to change), and reportedly will be available in two different configurations:
- The Complete Season 1, with all 22 first season episodes (including the double-length pilot episode) on 5 DVDs, plus the featurettes "Remembering The Fall Guy: An American Classic" and "The Unknown Stuntman: The Theme Song." $59.98 SRP.
- The Season 1, Volume 1 and Season 1, Volume 2 sets, with each of these two half-season sets (both shipping on the same day as the complete season) containing 3 DVDs. The featurettes will be split among the two different sets, with the retrospective on the first set and the theme song-based extra on the second. Cost will be $29.98 SRP each.
None of this info has been formally announced by the studio, Fox, just yet, so please consider all of it "tentative and subject to change." When the studio makes it official, we'll advise you about any changes to the above, and bring you box art as well (we're told it looks cool, with separate key art for all three packages). Stay tuned!
