First off, our apologies for not getting this info posted sooner; it's truly been a roller coaster ride here since the holiday season started, and news is coming fast and furious! We had wanted to follow up on
Faerie Tale Theatre - The Complete Collection before this, but it simply got by us. Our thanks to reader Emily Snodgrass for her help and her reminder to get this info in front of all of our readers.
In mid-November we
posted news that this collection of 26 episodes of Shelly Duvall's classic series would arrive on a 4-double-sided-disc set in the awesome packaging pictured above. At the time we were told by the manufacturer, Starmaker II, that
barring any snags, the intent is to ship product around January 4th.
Now you see why we wanted to speak to this sooner: the 4th has come and gone the other day, and where's the product? Adding to the confusion is the
Amazon listing that shows a Dec 28th ship date, but notes that the product is out of stock.
The answer to all of this is easily found
on Starmaker II's own website, where they clearly mark this product as "
SHIPPING JANUARY 12TH, 2005" (next Wednesday...and yes, that's correct, it's not a Tuesday). They show that the price has now been finalized to $89.99 SRP, and buying the set via the Amazon link above will get you 10% off of that (we presume that the e-tailer will magically get the product back in stock next Wednesday, or soon after). All other specs we mentioned in our last news post remain the same.
This looks like a great set, and my wife and I are waiting (dancing with anticipation!) to get our own copy of this release, and share it with our young son. Our thanks again to Emily Snodgrass for her timely e-mail.
