This past July we were pleased as punch to
bring you news that
Shelly Duvall's Faerie Tale Theater had come to DVD. Yes, all 26 episodes were released on 26 different discs, running at $6.98 each. Formerly, these releases were only available at the website of publisher Starmaker II, but starting today you can get them individually at Amazon, or else just order all 26 items at once at a 30% discount (that package deal - all 26 DVDs for $127.30 - has been available there since early September). here. The reviews and feedback from Amazon customers is very positive, showing that these are quality releases.
But the folks at Starmaker II aren't stopping there! Interest in this series has grown, and along the way fans have asked for a more mass-market-friendly box set containing the entire series of the show on fewer discs, and at a lower price point. Your wish is granted! Starmaker II tells us that such a set is in the pre-production stages right now. Barring any snags, the intent is to ship product around
January 4th. All 26 episodes will be on 4 discs (DVD-18s) housed in (2) double-disc Amaray keepcases. The price has not been finalized just yet. There is a 5-sided slip case for the outer box, that the Amaray keepcases slide in to. Here's a great look at that box for

Another packaging configuration is also coming out in the first quarter of 2005, aimed at mass merchants who would like a low-priced impulse-item version as well. But instead of using the existing single-episode boxes, Starmaker II is creating a new series of "2-Tale, 2-Disc Sets." Expected to go at a street price around $10-$15, these - like the box set - are planned to be sold at retail stores of all the sorts you would normally expect.
