We have gotten a LOT of e-mails from readers, telling or asking us about
a pre-order listing at DVDEmpire for something "
Classic TV Christmas" from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The vast majority of these fans writing in are from the
Facts of Life camp, who are excited to hear that an episode from their favorite show may finally make it to DVD!
The listing at DVDEmpire shows that "yuletide favorites from
Barney Miller, Benson, Bewitched, The Facts Of Life, and
Maude" are on tap, costing $19.94 SRP (the e-tailer is pre-sellilng it for $13.96), and supposedly for a Sept. 13th release.
The problem with that date is that Sony would have formally announced it by now, if that date were accurate. So TVShowsOnDVD owner Gord Lacey contacted Sony and asked about this release. The studio responded that the title IS coming, but has been bumped to a release date later than September. The new date is not available yet, but it should be no sooner than November, possibly even in December. Stand by and we will let you know what that new date is, just as soon as Sony announces it.
