AfterEllen.com is the website which refers to itself as "the pop culture blog that plays for your team", meaning lesbian and bisexual women (it and the male version named AfterElton.com are both currently owned by the Logo cable channel, which itself is part of MTV and the Viacom corporate family). For those of you not familiar with the site, it isn't directly related to Ellen DeGeneres, but takes its name from the milestone event of her going public with her sexual orientation.
Thanks to longtime reader Roni Finklestein, we've been tipped off that AfterEllen.com
recently posted word that the first (and so far, only) season of Logo's series
Exes & Oh's is coming to DVD! Here's what site Editor-in-Chief Sarah Warn said over there:
PARADISE BY THE DVD PLAYER LIGHT
Great news for Exes & Ohs fans! Although it hasn't been officially announced yet, a little lesbian bird told me that Logo (AfterEllen.com's parent company) is going to release the first season on DVD around May-ish.
I think Logo was persuaded to put the show on DVD by all the emails they received from fans and by all the interest AfterEllen.com readers have shown in both Exes & Ohs and Michelle Paradise's video blog (although sadly, Michelle's vlog episodes won't be included on the DVD simply for space reasons). So thanks to all of you who emailed and commented - your input really made a difference!
(And before you ask, no, I haven't heard yet whether there will be a second season of Exes & Ohs, but I think the DVD release is a good sign, no?)
It sounds great, Sarah...thanks to you for the info and to Roni for the heads-up! Visit AfterEllen.com for more info about
Exes & Oh's, and stay tuned for updates about the coming DVD release. Paramount Home Entertainment, which would distribute this item at retail, hasn't announced anything yet, but is only just starting to make their May schedule public, so it shouldn't be too long a wait!
