The Equalizer - VEI's Website Reveals DVD Plans for the Classic Show Starring Edward Woodward

No details yet, though, as this is apparently fairly early information

Posted by David Lambert
This past New Year's Eve we past on word (here and here) that Canadian-based Visual Entertainment Inc. (VEI) is working on North American DVD complete-series releases of The Mod Squad and Diagnosis Murder. Their website's "About Us" page confirms this, but also says to expect "the popular 80's series, 'The Equalizer' from NBC" on DVD from them in the future! Now, this program was on CBS, not NBC, but what VEI means by that is that they would have licensed the show from NBC-Universal, the studio which owns the property. Fans should be excited, since only one of this program's four seasons was previsouly released by Universal. But it appears that VEI has picked up the license to put out the rest of the classic show, which stars the late Edward Woodward. No doubt this will be available just in time to tie in with the upcoming reboot film starring Denzel Washington (due in theaters in about a year). There are no details, date or artwork available yet for these DVD releases from VEI, but stay tuned and we'll update you as further developments occur! Our thanks to reader Glenn Burns for tipping us off about this revelation.
