A couple of weeks ago saw the release of
the final DVD set for the hugely popular HBO series
Sex and the City. We've been getting e-mails from readers like "Alex" and "Mary" that we really shouldn't just fast-forward over the opening trailers on the first disc on this set. Before the DVD's main menu comes up on Disc 1 are a pair of skippable trailers, the first a promotion for HBO in general.
The second trailer is a 30 second look at HBO's July 2004 debut original series,
Entourage, which is co-created and co-exec-produced by "Marky" Mark Wahlberg and stars Adrian Grenier as Vincent Chase, a rising star in Hollywood who came from New York City, and brought 3 of his friends from Queens - his enourage - along for the ride. Jeremy Piven (
Cupid) plays his agent, who is forced to play along with the whims and antics of the star's entourage if he wants to keep this new talent as his client. In the meantime, there are many close encounters with celebrities and guest stars like Jessica Alba, David Faustino, Jimmy Kimmel, Debi Mazar, Val Kilmer, Joey Slotnick, Gary Busey, Larry David, and Scarlett Johansson.
The trailer really doesn't show off the plot, though, but it does take a quick look at the wild stuff the four friends get into: pool parties, golf cart races, cruising through Hollywood, and just generally enjoying the good life! The clips end with the shot you see below, followed by a similar image telling you that it's "coming soon to DVD."
This is great news for fans of the show. The first season was only 8 half-hour episodes, so this will be a short (and hopefully inexpensive) set. We'll let you know just as soon as HBO's distributor, Warner Home Video, makes their formal announement. Stay tuned and we will bring that to you once it's available.
