In this hilarious HBO comedy series, Kenny Powers, a washed-up former Major League Baseball star, is forced to return to his hometown to teach P.E. at his old middle school. While preparing for his triumphant return to the big leagues, Kenny moves in with his brother's family and proves adept at burning every bridge he crosses.

No, this isn't about a Jerry Reed song from
Smokey and the Bandit's soundtrack. Danny McBride, recently seen in
Pineapple Express and
Tropic Thunder, came to HBO last month with a new series. Word from the cabler's online shop is that they're already planning DVDs for
Eastbound and Down - The Complete Season 1.
The entire season only ran for 6 episodes (which was the plan all along; McBride
explained why to TVGuide.com), and all of them will be on this 2-disc set running approximately 180 minutes. It ships on
June 23rd. Box art isn't available yet, nor is there any word about extras so far, but stay tuned and we'll update you just as soon as we can! Our thanks to reader Tony Romine for tipping us off!
