Back in 2003, A.D. Vision released the 3rd, 4th and 5th seasons of
Earth: Final Conflict to DVD. Why not the first two seasons as well? Because, as we
explained at the time, the rights to those two seasons are actually held by Universal Studios.
Now we've gotten VERY reliable word from our industry sources that Universal will release those two seasons on DVD, starting on
July 15th. There was no description yet if this is one big package with all 44 hour-long episodes from those two seasons (which would require around eleven single-sided discs!), or if they were going to try to release both seasons separately on the same day (as they're doing with
Hulk's third and fourth seasons in June). Right now the release is merely listed as "
Earth: Final Conflict ", with that date but no other info.
Of course, that's because the studio hasn't officially announced this title yet, and may not for a number of weeks to come. Until they do, please remember that schedules and plans can certainly change in the meantime. We'll keep you posted, though, on any developments. Stay tuned!
