BURBANK, CA (June 12, 2006) - After four seasons of non-stop drama and chaos in the emergency room, "Dr. Ross" (George Clooney) decides it is time to leave the ER for good. In his last season, George Clooney, along with the mega star cast of Anthony Edwards, Eriq LaSalle, Noah Wyle, Julianna Margulies, Gloria Reuben and Alex Kingston, encounter devastating personal issues while being forced to make life and death decisions on a daily basis. A critically acclaimed drama and fan favorite, ER: The Complete Fifth Season hits shelves on July 11, 2006 for $49.98 SRP.
The winner of 2 Emmy awards, ER: The Complete Fifth Season continues the heart wrenching story lines originally created by Michael Crichton ("Jurassic Park.") This time around, things get turned upside down at County General Hospital when Dr. Corday (Alex Kingston) is forced to start her career over as an intern and Dr. Ross (George Clooney) leaves the team for another job. Clooney created the role of Dr. Ross when the series was introduced in 1994. The role made him a household name and weekly fans tuned in to see the sexy medicine man put his healing powers to the test.
The fifth season also introduces Lucy Knight, a third-year med student played by "Life Goes On" alum Kellie Martin. In episodes to follow, Knight bonds with resident hunk Dr. Carter (Noah Wyle) and kindles a steamy relationship. Dr. Green (Anthony Edwards) doesn't have as much luck with his personal life and watches helplessly as his family is torn apart.
"ER: The Complete Fifth Season says goodbye to some of its veteran doctors, but introduces a slew of new cast mates for fans to identify with," said Rosemary Markson, WHV Vice President, TV Marketing. "The award-winning fifth season does not disappoint in keeping viewers at the edge of their seats with heart-stopping drama and emotionally moving plot lines. For this reason, WHV is very excited to release this next installment of this much loved series."
