Warner Brothers is cranking out the
Hazzard sets this year! They've just announced that season 4 will be released on
August 2, just days before the theatrical movie opens on the 5th.
The down-home craziness continues with the Duke boys on DVD in The Dukes of Hazzard: The Complete Fourth Season! Following the phenomenal success of the TV franchise on DVD, Season Four's release will precede the much-anticipated theatrical release starring Jessica Simpson, Johnny Knoxville and Sean Scott Williams. All roads lead to fun in this 27-episode, 9-disc collector's set, with special features including an inside look at the series with John Schneider, Catherine Bach and Tom Wopat! The Dukes of Hazzard Movie will debut in theaters nationally on August 5th, 2005.
The specs for the set will remain the same as previous ones; full frame (1.33:1) video, English mono soundtrack, and English, French and Spanish subtitles. There are 27 episodes in season 4, 4 more than season 3, but the price remains $39.98. Warner Bros has also ditched the 4 double-sided discs for 9 single-sided ones. This will be the
third Dukes set released this year. Could they release a fourth set before the end of the year? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
We'll have more information, and artwork, a bit later, but for now we can tell you that the set will include "Building the Legend: The Dukes Story," a featurette looking at the series with John Schneider, Catherine Bach and Tom Wopat. We also hear that Boss Hogg might finally make the cover, but that's still not final.
