Earlier this week CBS and Paramount issued the long-awaited
announcement that
Duckman - Seasons 1 and 2 are coming to DVD at last on
September 16th. A bit later that day we updated our story with the first look at package art for this 3-disc set, commenting that it was "exactly what everyone would have been hoping for!"
So it was with some trepidation we
reported about extras yesterday, because we also told you that the studio had advised us to expect some sort of box revision to be coming shortly. They didn't explain what the revision was, and we were frankly imagining something drastic!
Not at all, as it turns out. The new box art actually showed up today (surprising to see it on a Saturday, but no complaints here!). You see it below, and we're sure your first reaction is exactly like ours was: what the heck is the difference? It turns out that all they did was correct a spelling error: the word balloon at the bottom right had said "starrin' " (with 2 r's) instead of "starin' ", and they just wanted to fix that up! Heh, we had completely overlooked that here, and if any of you noticed it then nobody wrote in.
We think most of you are probably glad, though, because that box art pretty much captures the essence of the show. Great job by Everett Peck, CBS DVD, and Paramount Home Entertainment! Don't you agree?
