Back in November we were pleased to bring you
the early heads-up about the release of
Lidsville on DVD, from the wonderful world of Sid & Marty Krofft. Now we've got another one for you, it seems. We heard from a reader named "Omar," who's somehow gotten ahold of the
Lidsville release a bit early, ahead of the upcoming Jan. 25th street date, and earned our gratitude by letting us know what he found in the extras.
Omar tells us that he's gone through the entire release already, including the commentary from Sid & Marty on the pilot episode (
Lidsville extras). What he found in there was a mention from Marty Krofft that the next set they are recording commentary for is the 1976 action series
Dr. Shrinker, one of the components of
The Krofft Supershow.
Since TVShowsOnDVD doesn't have an early copy of this set to verify what Omar told us, we got with Rhino and asked them about this. Rhino tells us that
Dr. Shrinker is indeed being looked at for DVD, but that it probably won't make it out until 2006. And of course, with so much lead time, anything can happen to those plans. But since the Kroffts are talking about recording extras for it, that's sounding pretty firm.
Our thanks to Omar for his informative e-mail; we appreciate it! Stay tuned for more developments, and we'll let you know when there's more
Dr. Shrinker news.
