As the description above mentions, the first weekend in 2013 sees the PBS broadcast premiere of of the third series (season), which they report will air over the course of 7 Sundays (the latest season is said in places to be nine episodes in all, but that's not confirmed). The studio isn't waiting that long to get these out on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, however, because Amazon.com (see button link below) has now begun taking pre-orders for Downton Abbey - Season 3 in both formats!
Scheduled to hit stores on January 29th, the title is priced at $54.99 SRP for the high-def Blu set, and $49.99 SRP for the DVD version. Both 3-disc releases will be available in Canada on the same day, too. Info about bonus material isn't available yet, but it's thought that some extras will be present (as they were in the first two season sets). Package art can be seen below, and at the bottom is a Downton Abbey - Season 3 trailer from PBS (warning: it is somewhat spoiler-ish if you are not fully caught up on all previous episodes, including the 2011 Christmas special):
