It's been over 5 months since we
had the heads-up from MPI Home Video that
The Doris Day Show - Season 5 was in-the-works for later this year. At last they are ready to let us know the release date! The 4-DVD set will come out on
November 20th, marking the final season of the show.
The final 24 episodes include guest spots by the likes of Andy Griffith, Lee Meriwether, Ed Begley Jr., Dick Van Patten and Bernie Kopell. Among the bonus material you'll find in this package are Commentary Tracks by Doris herself, Outtakes, new Public Service Announcements by Doris for the Humane Society, a vintage Easter Seals spot with Doris, a movie trailer, an episode dubbed in French, and a preview of the second (and final) CBS special,
Doris Day Today.
Oh, yeah: MPI is bringing that 1975 special out for DVD on the same date as well.
That 65-minute special puts Doris together with John Denver, Tim Conway, and impersonator Rich Little (who goes through his versions of many of Day's film co-stars). You'll hear Doris sing, see her dance, and generally have a great time. You'll also get a few bonus features here, too: a Discography of Day's works, a musical short of Day's from the '40s, and the complete footage of Day's appearance on John Denver's 1974 television special.
Below you'll see the front and rear cover art for
The Doris Day Show - Season 5 and then the same for
Doris Day Today. Our thanks to MPI for being so generous with this material!
