Ralph, one of our readers, received an email that Donny Osmond sent out through his newsletter. Here's what Donny had to say:
Hello RALPH,
This past month I haven't seen much more than the inside of my studio. Unfortunately we hit a road block with the Donny & Marie shows. It's such a long story and I'll spare you the boring details but in summary, the legal advisors told us that this project turned out to be prohibitively expensive to release in a compilation form. So, we are currently working on possibly releasing them as separate shows. I wish they would have told me this before I finished it in its current form but in the long run, it may even be better this way. It's been a long year of mixing and preparation for these shows and I'm still working tirelessly to get them ready before I leave for Australia and New Zealand. As I've said many times before, it will be well worth it. The release date for the DVD is dubious but it looks like either September or October. I will keep you posted
