With Mother's Day on the horizon for early May, there are few potential gifts better than that fantastic mom, Donna Stone, as seen in Virgil Films and Entertainment's upcoming
April 13th release of
The Donna Reed Show - The Best Of. This single disc release running 101 minutes will cost $14.99 SRP, according to the info at
Amazon's pre-order listing (but take it with a grain of salt, though, because the listing also says the video will be in widescreen, and we all know that this would most certainly not be the case!).
Of course, fans may be concerned that this represents a change in the season-set releases that Virgil has been putting out so far (three of the show's eight seasons are on DVD up until this point). This is probably not the case; Virgil (both under their current name, and under their old name of Arts Alliance America) has been seen to cater to both fans of value-priced single-disc releases such as this one, and to the season-set "want it all" fans. So, based on that history, we're not seeing this as a new direction or anything...just something for more casual fans to enjoy along the way.
