UNDER THE DOME is based on Stephen King's bestselling novel about a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by a massive transparent dome. UNDER THE DOME stars Mike Vogel, Rachelle Lefevre, Dean Norris, Natalie Martinez, Britt Robertson, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Nicholas Strong, Jolene Purdy and Aisha Hinds. UNDER THE DOME is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television. Neal Baer, Stephen King, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stacey Snider, Jack Bender and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote the television adaptation, serve as executive producers.
Just the other day, on Monday, the CBS network debuted the first episode of Steven Spielberg's new show, based on the Stephen King story. Now Amazon.com has ALREADY begun taking pre-orders for home video releases of Under the Dome
on both DVD
and high-def Blu-ray Disc
. There is also a Limited Collector's Edition version on Blu-ray
shown, in special dome-shaped packaging and mentioning "exclusive content" as well. These listings are prior to the official studio announcement for the title, though, so instead of a street date Amazon only says "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives.
" That's obviously a long way off, since the show just debuted for broadcast!
Pricing is available, however, currently showing $54.99 SRP for the standard DVD, $64.99 SRP for the Blu-ray, and $99.99 SRP for the Limited Collector's Edtion
Blu-ray (you can, of course, guarantee your copy right away at a discounted price, if you order it using any of the above links). There are no other details available so far at Amazon's entries, and the only artwork there is temp art, and an early look at the dome-shaped Limited Edtion
(below; note please that none of the artwork is finalized, and may be subject to change). Stay tuned, however, and we'll update you further on this title down the road, just as soon as we find out anything more! Our thanks to one of our readers, Bryce Novarro, for the heads-up about all of this.
