Doctor Who - We Finally Get To Go Back To The Beginning: Date, Cost, More!

It was almost two years ago, back in January 2004, that we first reported that Doctor Who - The Beginning was in the works:

Certain to be the highlight of this report is word of Doctor Who - The Beginning box set, containing An Unearthly Child (Story # 001, aka "100,000 BC"), The Daleks (Story # 002, aka "The Mutants", "The Dead Planet") and The Edge of Destruction (Story # 003, aka "Inside The Spaceship", "Beyond The Sun"), all starring William Hartnell.

Now the BBC and Warner Home Video have informed us that this will finally see the light of day on March 28th. Cost on this is $49.98 SRP.

The 3-DVD set is fully restored, naturally, and will be loaded with extras. The five hours of feature content covers the first three adventures that our favorite Time Lord ever took, which we have descriptions of below. "An Unearthly Child" - Two teachers follow a mysterious student home to a police box and the Doctor takes them all on an excursion back to 200,000 BC.

"The Daleks" - The TARDIS lands on the dead planet Skaro, where the Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan explore a deserted city inhabited by the notorious Daleks!

"The Edge of Destruction" - An explosion aboard the TARDIS triggers irrational feelings of aggression, paranoia and despair.
