Three weeks ago was gave you the heads-up for the late Spring wave of
Doctor Who titles. The BBC and Warner Home Video have now formally announced both
Doctor Who- Story #110: The Leisure Hive with Tom Baker and
Doctor Who - Story #157: Ghost Light with Sylvestor McCoy.
June 7th is the release date for both of these titles, and each one will sell for $24.98 SRP.
In
our previous story about these titles, we ran down the list of specs and extras that were expected on these releases. Warner's initial info has verified the list of extras we posted for
Ghost Light to a "T". For
Leisure Hive, however, it looks like a few of the extras might not have made the final cut. Here's a copy-and-paste of the bonus material as listed in the release info (with the exception that we correct what looks like a typographical error, where the "interviews" details are matched to the wrong bullet point):
- Audio Commentary : Audio commentary by actor Lalla Ward, director Lovett Bickford and script editor Christopher H. Bidmead
- Featurette : A New Beginning featurette on John Nathan-Turner
- Interviews : Interviews with writer David Fisher, script editor Christopher H. Bidmead, graphic designer Sid Sutton, composer Peter Howell, costume designer June Hudson
- Music Only Track
- Other : Optional Dolby Digital 5.1 surround mix
- Photo gallery
- Production Notes
Missing from being specifically named in that list are some featurettes we mentioned in the last story: "From Avalon to Argolis", "Synthesizing Starfields", and "Leisure Wear", along with the footage from children's magazine programme
Blue Peter that covers the first ever on-screen interview with incoming producer John Nathan-Turner. However, the "Interviews" bullet point above includes names from guests in some of those featurettes, so perhaps everything will actually be included after all. It's a bit vague, though, so we thought it would be best to bring it up. Stay tuned, and if we find out anything further about this, we'll certainly update you.
