Sept. 7th sees the release of the next two
Who DVDs.
Doctor Who - Story #082: Pyramids of Mars and
Doctor Who - Story #122: Earthshock arrive at $24.98 SRP for each of these:
Tom Baker's adventure is one of the most popular episodes. In it, an archeological dig revives Sutekh, an ancient Egyptian god of destruction. Baker is once again followed by Peter Davidson, in which the Tardis lands deep underground on 26th century Earth and brings the Doctor back into the steely clutches of the Cybermen.
The joint announcement from BBC Video and distributor Warner Home Video did not have the detailed list of extras, but the Restoration Team indicates that we can expect
Pyramids of Mars to have a commentary track, featurettes, interviews, deleted scenes, a comedy sketch (!), picture gallery, production subtitles, and an easter egg.
Earthshock is similarly loaded, with options to watch the feature with original special effects or with new modern effects, commentary track, 30-minute documentary, film sequences (including previously unseen shots and dialogue), 'Did You See...?' (10-minute item on
Doctor Who monsters from 1981, presented by Gavin Scott), isolated music, photo gallery, pop-up production notes, and easter eggs. If that list changes with the official studio information, then we'll be sure to let you know.
Stay tuned, and we'll fill you in about any future
Doctor Who developments as they come along.
