Yesterday the folks at BBC Video and Warner Home Video
announced their September 2008 classic
Doctor Who series DVD releases for North America. This morning DVDEmpire has both of these up for pre-order, too (each 150-minute extrsa-packed 2-disc set lists for $34.98 SRP, but is discounted there to $26.79 as of this writing).
Doctor Who - Story #093: The Invisible Enemy with K9 and Company: A Girl's Best Friend and
Doctor Who - Story #097: The Invasion of Time both will be available on
September 2nd!
Both main stories star Tom Baker as the 4th Doctor, Louise Jameson as companion Leela, and the voice of John Leeson as "K-9" (or "K9"), the robotic dog companion.
The Invisible Enemy was K-9's first appearance, and
The Invasion of Time was Leela's last. The bonus episode
K9 and Company: A Girl's Best Friend was a 1981 pilot episode for a spin-off starring K9 (Leeson) and former 4th Doctor companion Sarah Jane Smith (Elisabeth Sladen,
The Sarah Jane Adventures). Although the pilot wasn't picked up for a full series, it was aired on the BBC in December 1981 as a Christmas special.
Yesterday we had the package art for
The Invasion of Time (seen again at the bottom). Now the BBC has kindly sent us the package art for
The Invisible Enemy with K9 and Company: A Girl's Best Friend, too. Enjoy!
