As we've reported, next Tuesday January 11th sees the North American release of 2 classic-series DVDs: Doctor Who - Story #111: Meglos (starring Tom Baker as The 4th Doctor), as well as Doctor Who - Story #044: The Dominators (starring Patrick Troughton as The 2nd Doctor). Today the folks at 2|Entertain, the DVD production house for Doctor Who and the people behind the @ClassicDW Twitter feed as well, launch a brand-new way for Who-addicted fans to get a regular online fix: the BBC Classic Doctor Who YouTube channel! Be sure to visit over there, today and regularly, for many clips from actual episodes, and from the Value-Added Material ("VAM," which is another way of saying "DVD extras") you'll see on the home video releases.
Today, to celebrate both the launch of the YouTube channel AND next week's release of Story #111: Meglos, 2|Entertain has included a pair of exclusive clips from 2 of the bonus featurettes found on the DVD. Here are scenes from "Meglos Men" (Long-time writing partners John Flanagan and Andrew McCulloch meet with script editor Christopher H. Bidmead at his home to discuss Meglos, their only story for the series), and from "Jacqueline Hill - A Life in Pictures" (one of the original companions to accompany the Doctor in his early adventures, Hill returns to the show many years later to play Lexa in Meglos; this documentary looks at the life of an actress whose life was taken tragically early by illness). Here are those clips from one of next week's two classic Doctor Who releases:
