Last summer the BBC and Warner Home Video
announced a 27-title (34-disc) collection of classic
Doctor Who DVDs, taken from existing releases and bundled together. This year they are doing it again: as of this morning the studios have announced the
March 24th street date for the
Doctor Who - Mega Set Vol. 2. This new collection will be 29 titles, but they haven't revealed which ones yet. The cost provided at Warner's password-protected press site is $954.92 SRP, which would average around $33 per title (before retailer discount, that is). Since this will just be a bundling of the existing releases, and not anything with new content or packaging (aimed at rentailers and libraries, no doubt, rather than everyday consumers), we probably won't give it any additional coverage here. But we did want to let our readers know about it, so there's no confusion when it begins to show up for pre-order at Amazon and other online retailers.
