Dilbert - the most popular comic strip of the decade - is finally coming to DVD. With his signature turned-up tie, round glasses and buzz cut, Dilbert is already a pop culture phenomenon, providing an irreverent reference point for workers everywhere. Developed and produced by Emmy Award-winning writer/producer Larry Charles (
Seinfeld,
Mad About You),
Dilbert, the series, follows the "every man" as he copes with daily life at The Company.
This package is coming out on January 27, after
being delayed from a Fall 2003 release. The original plan WAS for a two-disc
Season 1 set, but now instead Columbia has used the extra time to deliver
a 4-Disc compilation of Dilbert: The Complete Series. Check out the cover art:
This 4-Disc release comes with all 30 episodes, plus it's packed with added extras:
Clip Compilation #1: "Dogbert Speaks"
Clip Compilation #2: "The Office Politics Handbook"
Clip Compilation #3: "The Watercooler"
Clip Compilation #4: "You're Not The Boss Of Me"
"Corner Office: Making Dilbert Work" Featurette
Columbia's annoncement says "373 minutes," but at 30 episodes that doesn't sound right...it only leaves around 12-13 minutes per episode, so it's probably a typo. But Video is 1.33:1, and sound is 2.0 English Dolby. This DVD meeting takes place on January 27th, and the salary for this set is a $49.95 SRP. Here's a sample of the main menu (below is from Disc 1; the other discs' menus are variations, and portrayed at other times of the day):
