It was exactly a month ago that we
posted the press release that officially broke the news that
A Different World was headed to DVD from UrbanWorks Entertainment. In that press release, it was made clear that the first season set would not make it out this year, though, but instead would be seen in January.
"Nuh-uh," says Amazon.com, who has posted a
pre-order listing for
A Different World - Season 1 that shows a
November 8, 2005 street date instead! Not much more is said than that, but what the giant onliine retailer does say is that this will be a 3-DVD set with a $39.99 SRP. However, Amazon will let you pre-order it right now and lock in a nice price of just $27.99 for the season set (which appears to be headed to market just in time for the holiday season!).
Since it's the weekend, we won't be able to attempt to get any comments about this from distirbutor UrbanWorks or from the main studio, Carsey Werner, until Monday. Stay tuned, and if we hear anything different than what Amazon is showing, we'll let you know.
