Well Go USA, a studio mostly known in TV-DVD circles for children's fare such as
Hi-5 and anime products (which we no longer cover here) like
Digimon, is turning their attention to a much more serious subject this fall: the recent BBC mini-series, aired this past January in the U.K., of
The Diary of Anne Frank.
The 5-part production, running 150 minutes (each installment was a half-hour), stars Ellie Kendrick in the title role, plus Iain Glen (
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Resident Evil films), Tamsin Greig (
Shaun of the Dead), Felicity Jones (
The Worst Witch), Nicholas Farrell (
The Jewel in the Crown, Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan Lord of the Apes), Geoff Breton (
Blue Murder), Kate Ashfield (
Shaun of the Dead, Watership Down) and Roger Frost (
Time Bandits, The Bourne Identity).
Amazon.com has added
a pre-order listing showing that Well Go USA's 2-DVD release of
The Diary of Anne Frank will be available on
October 27th. Cost is $24.98 SRP. No further details about the DVD release are available yet, nor cover art, but we'll update you as the situation warrants.
