March 2nd DVD release of
Desmond's - The Collection: Series 1 to 4. This 7-disc set running 1110 minutes contains the first 4 series (seasons) of the U.K. program. Cover art can be seen below. This will be available in Canada, and you can
pre-order from Amazon.ca at a discounted cost from the CA$39.98 SRP list price. Note that the USA branch of Amazon.com
has a listing, too, but with a wrong availability date (showing late last month, which is just plain incorrect); we have not been able to determine with the studio if they are actualy distributing this in the USA, or only in Canada (as is the case with many of their TV-on-DVD releases). One reader in Toronto, "Francis," informs us that this release was found on the shelves of HMV stores there - as early as the beginning of January! - as part of a larger VEI-made set called "
The Ultimate British Comedy Collection," which also includes
That's My Boy and other UK shows...but VEI has given us zero information about such a release, so perhaps that item is some sort of exclusive.
