A couple of months ago we
reported that World Events Productions (WEP) is readying a DVD release of
Denver, the Last Dinosaur - Volume 1, featuring the first 10 episodes of the classic animated series and a pair of extras:
- Denver, the Last Dinosaur (the 1-hour pilot episode)
- In The Chips
- Videohhhh!
- The Monster of Lost Lake
- Denver Makes the Grade
- Big Top Denver
- The Misunderstanding
- Lions, Tigers, and Dinos!
- Change of Heart
- Bronco-Saurus
- Special Features:
- Denver Karaoke
- "Denver Around the World" featurette
- Previews of other WEP products
This DVD will not be sold in stores. Why not? Frankly, because the stores and national DVD distributors weren't interested in selling it! Hard to believe, but that's what we hear from our friends in the industry. Simply scandalous! Especially considering the amount of demand we've seen for this show. But we commend WEP - as determined a group of people as you can possibly find in this industry! - for seeing this project through, and making
Denver DVDs available
through their online Denver store. It's not listed there yet, but will be soon. WEP always thinks of their fans first, and you can see it in the caring and quality work of the DVDs for their shows.
WEP intends to begin shipping
Denver on October 8th (yes, that's a Monday), and they will have different packages available: some with a stuffed Denver plush toy (already for sale at their site), others with actual animation cels (not reproductions) used in creating the show. Cost for each of these configurations will be announced when the ordering goes live at the site.
WEP has sent over the box art and the disc label art for this long-awaited DVD. We think it looks fabulous, and complimented the studio on it. Their response was:
Well, thanks. That's our in-house graphic designer Bill England, who did the original Voltron logo and legend had a lot to do with the name being Voltron (and not Coltron or Coltar).
Wow, awesome! We think you'll agree that Bill deserves pats on the back for that legendary naming and logo, as well as for this nice-looking work on the
