Imagination brought
Deal or No Deal host Howie Mandel to Las Vegas to promote their upcoming release of the
Deal or No Deal DVD game. The game brings the excitement of the TV series into your home through the DVD medium. You start by selecting the case you're playing for, then you eliminate the remaining cases by opening them up, one by one. You'll be facing with a tough decision though; should you take the deal the banker is offering, or do you keep playing?
The game works with one or two players. If you select two players you'll alternate after making the "Deal or No Deal" decision. I played the game a bit during the press conference and I was very impressed with the game. The controls were simple enough that my mother should be able to figure them out - press the up and down arrows to cycle through the remaining cases then press enter to open a case. There are lots of video bits featuring Howie, the banker, and the 26 lovely ladies. The game is available at Toys 'R Us and Wal-Mart right now, and should be available "almost everywhere" in a few weeks. The suggested retail price is $19.99
Howie drew a big crowd when he played the game, though he shouldn't have taken the deal he did. Here are some photos from the event, including the amount that was in his case:
UPDATE (from David Lambert) - We've aquired a full-sized picture of the packaging for the interactive Deal Or No Deal
DVD game, so that pic will be found at the bottom. We've also received word that the producer, Imagination Licensing, is also planning upcoming releases of interactive DVD games for Let's Make A Deal
and a second volume of Family Feud. Stay tuned for more about those releases when the information becomes available.
