Pavan Badal, a regular news contributor to TVShowsOnDVD, also works with many other entertainment websites such as SitcomsOnline.com, ToonZone.net, and his own Jack's Bistro (a Three's Company fansite).
In the course of his duties for those sites, Pavan received his own review copy of 227 yesterday from Columbia TriStar, and inside the box set was a little booklet. That booklet, Pavan tells us, mentions that One Day At A Time - Season 1 is "Coming Soon" to DVD!
This is great news for fans of the Norman Lear-developed sitcom, which debuted in December 1975 and lasted for nine years. Bonnie Franklin starred as Ann Romano, looking after her daughters Julie (Mackenzie Phillips) and Barbara (Valerie Bertinelli). They lived in an apartment in Indianapolis where the superintendent, Schneider (Pat Harrington Jr.), never hesitated to butt in and give his own take on things. Other cast members at different times included Richard Masur and Howard Hesseman.
This is, of course, just a heads-up from the studio: early info that can change or disappear if things don't go according to plan. So don't get overly excited until the official announcement comes. When it does, though, we'll be back with a release date, the details, and of course cover art. Stay tuned!
