We're getting e-mails from a lot of
Dawson's Creek fans - a LOT of you - linking us to "Dawson's Creek season 6 possible news" or telling us that "the release date for the UK is January 23rd which means the U.S. date shouldn't be far behind" or saying "Hey I have the box set art for Dawson's Creek season 6 if you want it," etc. (Note that the artwork found always has a red circle in the lower right with the number "12" in it.)
Just as a reminder that all of that - artwork, date, etc. - is for the REGION 2 (European) release of this set, and it HAS NOT been announced for North America yet. We
have reported that it is due for release sometime in 2006, but Sony has not narrowed it down farther than that yet. They've revealed their release slate to the general public through the third week of February, and we've spoken to the studio and they don't have anything to say to us beyond that, even off the record. It's simply not scheduled yet as far into the future as our contacts have listings for...the decision has not yet been made.

DawsonsCreekMusic.com continues to state (as they have for a while) that "Season 6 USA release is now expected in early 2006." At this time, we can't even reassure you that the "early" part is still going to turn out to be accurate. We hope so, but we just don't know.
We're sorry to bother everybody with this post, as it is a "no-news" story of the type we really prefer not to do (we could literally run stories daily that something is
not coming out, so we prefer to save the news to tell you that things are on the way...however, this one isn't).. But we are frankly getting a bit distracted by all the e-mails about the foreign release of the final season, and rest assured that we are working hard to find out when the Region 1 release is happening. We literally ask Sony every time we talk to them, and we're sure we sound like a broken record to them. Stay tuned and we'll certainly send the word out as soon as we get it. In the meantime, we don't want to ever discourage our readers from feeling free to drop us a line about this or anything else. We just wanted to let you know what the situation is, and make sure you know we're up on it ourselves. We're staying on top of this story, though, so please stand by.
