In the wake of their
early-Monday announcement that
Dawson's Creek - The Complete 4th Season was due to arrive on
10/5/04, Columbia Tristar has released more details about the set. First off, here's their description of the season's events:
It's senior year for Dawson, Joey, Pacey, Jen and Jack! After spending the summer, Joey and Pacey find it difficult to keep their romance going with the realities of school, college applications and their strained relationship with Dawson. Dawson rediscovers his true life's dream, Jen turns over a new leaf after getting a new boyfriend, and Jack tries to rebuild relationships after revealing he's gay.
The studio has verified that the presentation is full-screen, with English Dolby Surround Sound. Subtitles are in both Spanish and Portuguese. 4 discs include all 23 episodes from the fourth season.
This features new music selected by the executive producer, including Jann Arlen's "Run Like Mad" international opening theme song which graced the
3rd Season DVD set. The "Ultimate
Dawson's Creek Trivia Game" is on board as an extra, and you'll also find a commentary track on "Coming Home" by Executive Producer Paul Stupin. Then Stupin returns with Writer Alan Cross for commentary on "The Graduate". Plus there are bonus previews for similar Columbia releases.
$49.95 is the SRP, but we're told that there's also a consumer mail-in rebate offer. If you buy "
Dawson's Creek: The Complete 3rd Season" and
"Dawson's Creek: The Complete 4th Season," you can mail in for a $5 rebate. Columbia didn't make it clear yet if these items must be purchased at the same time, or within a particular date range. So let's just say, "see the
4th Season package for details".
Speaking of the package, here it is!
With just two more seasons left to go after this one, it looks like good sales of this set, combined with continued good sales of the 3rd one, will guarantee that the 5th and 6th ones come our way. Stay tuned for more about future releases.
