With
news circulating recently that Johnny Depp (
Pirates of the Caribbean, Edward Scissorhands) has signed to co-produce and star (as Barnabas, no less!) in a Warner Brothers big-screen remake of
Dark Shadows, now seems the perfect time to update you on MPI's releases to DVD of the early episodes of Dan Curtis' original show.
We've already
shown off the front and rear artwork for the first three volumes of
Dark Shadows -The Beginning, and this morning we have an early look at the spooky turn the cover art takes (again, front and rear) for
Dark Shadows -The Beginning, Vol. 4:Episodes 106-143. The first volume hits stores on August 28th, and the second on October 30th. We're expecting the third volume in late December (specific date TBA), and the fourth volume would hit general retail in
February, 2008. Of course, members of the
Dark Shadows DVD Club get all releases early, and get the final (sixth) volume for free. Our thanks to the folks at MPI Home Video for their cooperation:
